DOD selects OMNITEC Solutions for Media Analysis support
February, 2008 The Deputy Assistant Secretary of Defense for Public Liaison (DASD (PL)) has engaged OMNITEC Solutions to provide 24x7 web-based media analysis. This service will allow the DOD to gain an external view of and providing insight into the trends and patterns of media coverage of the DoD, similar to how most Fortune 500 firms monitor coverage and public perceptions of their brands and/or services. The OMNITEC Solutions system provides for a software based, multi-faceted capability designed to conduct automated acquisition, collation and preliminary analysis of print, radio and television broadcast and Internet media coverage.

SPAWAR signs up OMNITEC Solutions for Strategic Management Support
(January, 2008) The Department of the Navy, Space and Naval Warfare Systems Command (SPAWAR) has selected OMNITEC Solutions of Bethesda, MD for program management support services in the area of strategic management. These services will be provided to the SPAWAR Strategic Management Office (SMO) (SPAWAR 00A-1) in support of Team SPAWAR senior leaders. Team SPAWAR consists of SPAWAR Headquarters and its associated Program Executive Offices (PEOs) and SPAWAR Systems Centers (SSCs).
Team SPAWAR leaders, with support from the Strategic Management Office (SMO), are responsible for setting strategic goals and objectives, developing performance plans, ensuring execution, and tracking results. These tasks range from long-term strategic planning to mid and short-term management of budgets and critical operational results. In addition, Team SPAWAR is part of larger communities, most notably the Provider Enabler Enterprise and the Navy NETWAR/FORCEnet Enterprise (NNFE). In addition to internal organizational strategic management, Team SPAWAR leaders are involved in strategic planning efforts at the Navy, ASN (RDA) and NNFE levels. The OMNITEC Solutions team will be based in San Diego, CA.

From what originated as a purpose built Content Management Solution, OMNITEC Solutions helped with a radical simplification of Air Force wide processes, procedures, and resources for the dissemination of public data & content through a unified web portal presence. Main Air Force Web site wins DoD award
Air Force Link (www.af.mil), the official Web site of the United States Air Force and one of OMNITEC Solutions’ major customers, was named the Department of Defense’s 2006 Outstanding Flagship Web Site by a panel of judges for the Thomas Jefferson Awards Program. The program is sponsored by the American Forces Information Service and the Office of the Assistant Secretary of Defense for Public Affairs to stimulate and reward excellence and professionalism in military print and broadcast media.
Air Force Link is managed by the Air Force News Agency (AFNEWS), San Antonio, Texas. AFNEWS is the Air Force’s lead agency for news gathering, production and distribution of print, photo and broadcast products that directly support the strategic communication needs of the Secretary of the Air Force (Office of Public Affairs) and the Department of Defense. The agency’s media products help senior leaders improve military readiness, morale and quality of life, as well as gain and maintain public support for men and women in uniform
AFNEWS manages and operates Air Force Link through a Web-based content management system—the Air Force Public Information Management System (AFPIMS)—developed by OMNITEC.

National Cancer Institute (NCI) selects OMNITEC Solutions for critical Application Hosting.
OMNITEC Solutions has been awarded new work in support of The National Cancer Institute (NCI), which is the Federal Government’s principal agency for research in cancer prevention, detection, diagnosis, treatment, rehabilitation, and the dissemination of information for the control of cancer. NCI is a sub agency of NIH, under Health & Human Resources.
The National Cancer Institute Center for Bioinformatics (NCICB) coordinates and deploys informatics in support of NCI research initiatives with the goal to maximize interoperability and integration of NCI research and its related information. Informatics support provided by the NCICB includes platforms, services, tools, and data.
OMNITEC IT & Web Services staff will provide 24x7 applications hosting for 2 of NCICB’s most critical software applications. This includes providing a high level of availability for these NCICB applications by developing an implementation plan, to include hardware design and complete implementation scheduling. Other services include migrating the pilot program’s applications to the hosting facility, day to day backup and recovery of all data associated with the hosted applications, monitoring of the hardware, operating system, and database systems required for the hosting of the applications, developing an integrative contingency plan and disaster recovery, and conducting monthly application and system security measures.
Technical capabilities include expertise in: Tomcat 5.5.9 and 5.5.17, Java 1.4.2 and 1.5, Apelon Metaphrase and Apelon DTS 3.1, J2EE 1.3, JBoss, 4.0.4, MySQL 4.1, and Oracle 9i.

OMNITEC Solutions expands current Web Services with the Department of Health & Human Services.
Building off of our initial success with HHS that started with providing web streaming media services (visit http://www.pandemicflu.gov/), OMNITEC Solutions was awarded additional work with this client to provide additional Web Services support. In particular, OMNITEC’s IT & Web Services team will provide technical support to assist in the development and integration of the HHS computing infrastructure for local facilities as well as remote systems.
Initially, duties will include: a) the design and integration of an Enterprise class live online meeting room solution; b) design, develop, and deploy network and server configurations to support the HHS Pandemic Flu team’s ability to meet online; c) provide support by recommending changes to existing systems, hardware and software, and by recommending new potential systems, and d) provide a web accessible Meet Room and Resource Reservation system

"We put so much content on the old Web site that it became very complicated to use, while searching for specific content in our video library was almost impossible," explained Brian Natwick, the Pentagon Channel's general manager. "In contrast, our new site is very intuitive and easy to use. There's no learning curve.”
“Plus, the extensive metadata that is attached to each video file makes detailed searching simple. For instance, you can search for video clips using broad queries such as 'SecDef Gates,' or drill down by linking this query with specific locations, topics, and dates."
Mr. Natwick credits the Pentagon Channel's ability to play in any browser to Adobe Flash, the streaming software that doesn't require a standalone player like Windows Media, QuickTime, and Real. "Flash frees our users from having to load specific proprietary players, and it also punches through firewalls because it uses port 80," Natwick said. "This ensures that many more surfers can see our content. In contrast, non-port 80 technologies such as Windows Media, QuickTime, and Real streams are often blocked by firewalls."

OMNITEC Solutions, Inc. Receives Five-Year, $24.6 Million Contract to Provide Command Strategic Leadership Support Services to Naval Air Systems Command

Bethesda, MD, 20 September 2006 – OMNITEC Solutions, Inc., a business management / communications and technology services firm has been awarded a five-year, $24.6 million contract by the U.S. Navy to provide Command Strategic Leadership Services in support of the Naval Air Systems Command Headquarters, in Patuxent River, Maryland.
Through NAVAIR’s Analysis and Planning Office, OMNITEC employees will provide strategic management /communications support to NAVAIR’s Commander, Vice Commander, and Deputy Commander, to include drafting speeches, presentations, strategic guidance, visionary documents, and facilitating executive-level meetings and decision forums. They will also support AIRSpeed, the business process improvement program of the Naval Aviation Enterprise (NAE), as well as the Sigma Program Office responsible for NAVAIR’s implementation of the Navy Enterprise Resource Planning solution, an end-to-end business management system that standardizes Navy business practices. OMNITEC will continue to support the NAE War Council, and the Naval Capabilities Development Process (NCDP) charged with analyzing future warfighting capability requirements and alignment of NAVAIR and NAE strategic initiatives to the Navy’s 21st century operating construct, Sea Power 21. OMNITEC personnel will also manage NAVAIR’s Washington Liaison Office (WLO) based in Crystal City, VA, providing a secure working environment for Flag and General Officers, SES officials, civil servants, and Contractor Support personnel.

OMNITEC will support The Office of the Deputy Assistant Secretary of the Navy for Acquisition Management (DASN (ACQ)), which is the focal point in the Department of the Navy (DoN) on all matters pertaining to acquisition and business management, and serves as the core change agent for acquisition in the Department of the Navy. Specifically, OMNITEC will provide a broad range of support services in public affairs, communications, event coordination support, preparation of speech and/or briefing products and documentation for posting to the Public Affairs portions of the DASN (ACQ) Web Site, as well as provide Office Management and Operations support.
