We provide keen analysis of multiple news media formats (print, online, television, radio, and social media) and encapsulate key information into easily consumed themes and trends to aid senior officials in their day-to-day decision-making.

    • Because these positions support government clients and require access to secure federal sites, U.S. citizenship and the ability to pass a background investigation are required. 
    • This position requires an overnight shift, five days a week, including every other weekend.
    • After an initial on-site training period, Remote/Teleworking will be available for some shifts. Occasional team meetings on the client site in Arlington, VA will still be required.

    Duties and Responsibilities

    We require people with hands-on experience with the capture, review, analysis, and interpretation of open source mainstream and social media coverage, as it relates to a large and complex organization. We are adamant about fresh perspectives without bias.

    You will use your detailed analysis and superb communication skills to prepare briefings, executive summaries, point papers, and related products. Your primary responsibility will be the production of a news summary product to be disseminated to senior officials.

    Required Skills

    • 4-year degree, preferably in a Communications, Journalism, Public Affairs, History, International Relations or a related major; 
    • 2+ years of relevant professional media research experience; 
    • Experience with one or more of the following: Lexis-Nexis, TVEyes, Google, Factiva, Open Source Enterprise, Hootsuite, or another social analytics tool; 
    • Exceptional writing and editing skills are required; 
    • Ability to work well under tight deadlines; 
    • Knowledge of MS Office required; 
    • Must be able to work overnight five nights a week including every other weekend; 
    • U.S. citizenship and the ability to pass a background investigation are required as this position supports a government client and requires access to secure federal sites.

    Duties and Responsibilities

    • Deploy and support Windows Server 2008 R2 / Windows Server 2012 R2 on physical hardware and virtual machines.
    • Deploy and support ASP.Net and PHP Web applications using technology such as IIS, ARR, Microsoft SQL Server and other web related technologies.
    • Provide operational support such as server monitoring, backups, patching, and other duties as required.
    • Write PowerShell to automate redundant tasks.
    • Find novel solutions to difficult problems.
    • Constantly learn and improve.
    • Share knowledge and collaborate with your teammates.

    Required Skills

    • 5+ years relevant professional experience.
    • Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.
    • Strong written / verbal communication skills. 
    • Strong demonstrable knowledge of Microsoft Windows 2008/2012 Server. 
    • Scripting Skills (PowerShell strongly preferred).
    • Experience with a virtualization platform such as VMWare.
    • Fundamental knowledge of networking and common protocols.
    • Understanding of IIS and related Web technologies.

    • Proficiency with scheduling tools, preferably Microsoft Project. Experience with other tools such as Primavera, or Deltek Open Plan will also be considered; 
    • Proficiency with Microsoft Office suites particularly Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint; 
    • Ability to establish rapport, gain an understanding of a customer needs, and to help influence decision makers via strong data analysis and reporting;
