    You will work closely with other System/Network professionals, Web Developers, Database Administrators, Built/Test engineers and Help Desk professionals supporting hundreds of sites, including:

    Duties and Responsibilities

    • Deploy and support LINUX and AWS based servers on physical hardware and virtual machines.
    • Provide operational support such as server monitoring, backups, patching, and other duties as required.
    • Write shell scripts to automate redundant tasks.
    • Find novel solutions to difficult problems.
    • Constantly learn and improve.
    • Share knowledge and collaborate with your teammates.

    Required Skills

    • 5+ years relevant professional experience.
    • Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.
    • Strong written / verbal communication skills. 
    • Experience with Cloud/IaaS providers such as AWS and Azure;
    • Scripting Skills (PowerShell strongly preferred).
    • Experience with a virtualization platform such as VMWare.
    • Fundamental knowledge of networking and common protocols. 
    • Working knowledge of Microsoft SQL Server.
    • Security certification such as Security+ certification or higher or ability to immediately obtain.
    • An active clearance is highly preferred, but we can consider candidates with US citizenship and the ability to immediately obtain an Interim Secret.

    Helpful Skills

    • Splunk experience;
    • Jira Experience;
    • Knowledge of configuration management using tools such as Desired State, Configuration (DSC), Chef, or Puppet;
    • Git experience;

    Required Skills

    • A degree is required, preferably in life sciences, bioinformatics, or related field;
    • Experience with big and complex data sets is required, with any experience managing scientific or medical data like MRI data files, next-gen sequencing, etc., a big plus;
    • Strong data management concepts and experience with a relational database and/or complex Excel files, with any SQL and/or Scripting skills preferred;
    • The ability to work collaboratively on projects with an intensely goal oriented team; 
    • The flexibility and dedication to deliverables allowing you to take on multiple roles and shifting priorities based on end-user priorities; 
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, to include demonstrable past work performance and/or assignments requiring active interaction with Researchers, Analysts, other technical staff, and end users;

    Duties and Responsibilities

    Primary:

    • Interacts directly with the customer to carry out the activities of the Help Desk and specific applications. Responsible for daily operational requirements and activities for Level I support as assigned by team leader. Applies knowledge of hardware and software troubleshooting, and content management applications to troubleshoot, research, and repair problems as identified by users. Provides input to reports generated by the team. Carefully documents all activities in third party help desk software. 
    • Processes customer orders, prepares correspondence, and fulfills customer needs to ensure customer satisfaction. Provides technical support to end users on a variety of issues. Identifies, researches, and resolves technical problems. Responds to telephone calls, email and personnel requests for technical support. Documents, tracks and monitors the problem to ensure a timely resolution. 
    • Assists with and develops Help Desk policies and procedures. Maintains and/or develops Help Desk’s Public Folders, inventories, FAQs, POC list, user lists, or other data collections related to the Help Desk representative responsibilities and job functionality. 
    • Identifies and requests training to develop skills that would improve capabilities in achieving Help Desk mission and complete customer satisfaction. 
    • Works under general supervision. 

    Supplemental:

    • Responds to and tracks tickets to ensure high quality customer service. Prioritizes tickets to maintain and optimize all available resources. Supports team to ensure rapid response times and follow-up with customers. Ensures that all calls are responded to in a timely manner. Assist customers with problems and special requests as required by manager and team. Develops professional working relationships with customer and other team members to better understand business needs. 
    • Coordinates and consults with customer, other contractors, and the Government representatives to meet project requirements. Advise management of potential risks that may have impact on customer base and operating environment.

    Required Skills

    • College degree preferred, either AS or BS; 
    • Two (2) to three (3) years of experience in the IT field or a similar customer support role, with a strong preference for specific experience supporting large scale web-based applications; 
    • Understanding of HTML and other web publishing tools and technologies; 
    • Excellent communication skills – both written and oral; 
    • Secret clearance or the ability to immediately obtain a interim Secret clearance; 
    • CompTIA "Security+" certified or able to immediately pass;CompTIA "Security+" certified or able to immediately pass;
